Linocut and Stencil Printmaking
In conjunction with the WAG exhibition; Creation and Transformation: Defining Moments in Inuit Art, WAG Studio and Martha Street Studio present a special opportunity to view, discuss and create original prints. Two of the most popular forms of contemporary Inuit printmaking are the stonecut and the stencil. When they are combined in one print they can produce visual effects that are both subtle and highly sophisticated. In this 2 day workshop you will create your own combination prints with the help of Martha Street Studio instructor, Peter Graham, who will guide you through the basics of linocut and stencil techniques. All supplies are included in your registration fee. A pass to visit the exhibition is included in the cost.
