For the last 18 month Martha Street Studio (MSS), in partnership with Arts + Disability Network Manitoba (ADNM), mentored 6 artists self-identified as persons with disabilities. The mentorship included training in printmaking techniques as well as critiques, guest artist lectures, professional development seminars and other mentoring sessions. These sessions were designed to help the participants overcome physical, psychological, cognitive and social barriers that artists with disabilities often face when interacting with the larger art community and the general public. The exhibition Making Our Mark is the culmination of visual art production generatred during this mentorship process.
