Exhibition description by Abi Deibert and Max Snidal:

๐˜Š๐˜ข๐˜ฎ๐˜ฑ๐˜ถ๐˜ด ๐˜จ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฆ๐˜ด ๐˜Š๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ต๐˜ณ๐˜ข๐˜ญ: ๐˜—๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ต ๐˜Œ๐˜ฅ๐˜ช๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ is a celebration of the incredible skill and effort that the University of Manitobaโ€™s School of Art students demonstrate in their art practice. This exhibition aims to increase visibility for emerging student printmakers by transporting their work from campus to downtown Winnipeg, transforming Martha Street Studio into a collection of student made work. With the intention of acknowledging the enthusiasm and vigor that the students dedicate to their craft, Campus goes Central strives to highlight voices that are typically restricted to exhibition at the university, merging two separate art scenes to expose each to what the other has to offer. With boundless energy and fresh ideas, this assortment of work demonstrates how the School of Artโ€™s students are redefining printmaking on their own terms.

Selection Committee statementย by Dylan Carr, edited by Max Snidal

By Dylan Carr, edited by Max Snidal Artworks featured in Campus goes Central: Print Edition were thoughtfully selected by a selection committee composed of University of Manitobaโ€™s School of Art faculty and student printmakers. Works selected were considered to compile a diverse assortment of printmaking techniques and artistic expression. The exhibition features students from a range of backgrounds, years of study, and specialties in printmaking. The selection committee paid close attention to include boundary pushing works that demonstrate technical skill and emotional depth. The exhibition as a whole is meant to serve as a bridge between the School of Art and Winnipegโ€™s broader art scene. By exposing these two groups to each other, it is our hope to unify and strengthen our cityโ€™s printmaking community as a whole.
