Aboriginal Mentorship
In partnership with Urban Shaman Gallery Inc., Martha Street Studio has delivered two intensive printmaking mentorship programs designed specifically for First Nations artists. Martha Street Studio is currently reviewing the structure of our past programming. Results of this review will be announced later in the year.
Youth Mentorship
Twice a year four students who show dedication and a strong interest in printmaking and the arts and who have successfully completed Martha Street Studios’ twelve week Youth Outreach Program, are given the opportunity to continue their printmaking practice though a one on one mentorship with a print based artist from the community. Students meet with mentors for a minimum of three hours a week for twelve weeks. During this time mentors help youth to continue pursuing their art practice. Mentors help with a variety of different things such as; helping prepare portfolios for university, applying for arts related opportunities, and skill development.
