Andrew Valko

Andrew Valko received his Diploma in Graphic Design and Applied Arts from the Red River Community College in Winnipeg, Manitoba and studied printmaking with Toshi Yoshida at Yoshida Hanga Academy in Tokyo, Japan. Valko’s exhibition credits include numerous solo exhibitions in such galleries as; Monte Clark Gallery; Douglas Udell Gallery and Mayberry Fine Art. He has participated in many group shows, both nationally and internationally including; Memorial University of Newfoundland Art Gallery; Winnipeg Art Gallery; Norman MacKenzie Art Gallery; Art Gallery of Greater Victoria; Muttart Public Gallery; The Art Gallery of Calgary; Plug In Institute of Contemporary Art; in Canada; Duxbury Art Complex Museum; South Hampton, New York; Danforth Museum of Art; Louis K. Meisel Gallery; Kolding Hal; Taipei Fine Arts Museum; R.V.S. Gallery, Kabatoja Gallery; la Maison Rouge; and Le Musee de Arts Modestes. Andrew is a recipient of numerous awards and commissions. These include being elected to The Royal Canadian Academy of The Arts, receiving Manitoba Arts Council grants, a commission from Canada Post Corporation, the Royal Canadian Mint, the University of Manitoba, and The City of Winnipeg.
